There is no doubt that The Country Cottage provides an atmosphere that enhances your child’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual skills while also providing a safe, happy, loving environment like home.
- We believe that family is the most important and influential part of a child’s life.
- We believe parents are the primary teachers of their children.
- We believe children feel most secure and loved when they are surrounded by loving and caring adults.
- We believe children learn best through constructive play and hands on experience.
We believe that believe that children between the ages of 2 and 4 do in fact need to begin learning those basic preschool skills that will prepare them for a formal preschool setting and eventually for kindergarten. That being said, two year olds do not have the attention span required for a true preschool experience.
Children 0-24 months: daily supervised floor play, music, dancing, stories, arts and textural play and crafts along with age appropriate circle time.
Children 2-4 years old: toilet training support, quiet and active play, pretend play, fine motor development such as lacing, peg boards, puzzles, coloring, painting, play dough and gross motor activities both indoors and outdoors.
Art rich, theme based curriculum offering lots of hands on experiences along with phonics and early exposure to Spanish, cultural awareness and diversity.
The new program has been very successful and we are thoroughly enjoying this dedicated preschool time with the children.
Summer is finally around the corner in Montana and we are getting excited about warm temperatures and spending time outdoors.
The colder than normal temperatures and late season snow may have kept us from planting our gardens but it sure didn’t keep us from moving forward with our other plans for the new deck play area. The children are already enjoying the new playhouse and enclosed play area where they can run and play and we can be assured that they are safe.
The new planter boxes have effectively eliminated a huge section of stairs on the deck and provided peace of mind for all of us in terms of safety for the children.
Shane and I are so blessed to have such wonderful clients. We just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to each of you with this little video created with some of the pictures and video taken this past year of your precious little ones. Wishing all of you a very happy and safe new year.
As we enjoy the last days of summer and the warm temperatures, we are also preparing for the cold winter months ahead.
Shane and I are excited about the new meal plan we are offering clients and many of you have signed up already. So many yummy things are in store for all of you.
While we get the outside of The Country Cottage ready for winter, we are also getting the inside ready for lots of fun. Take a look at Phase 1 of the basement transformation that is happening for our morning play area. Stay tuned for more pictures and news.
This morning the cool air really made me begin thinking about autumn being right around the corner. It also got me in the mood to do some baking. It smells like autumn with the yummy smell of cinnamon and nutmeg in the oatmeal cookies baking just in time for snack time today.
We have limited part time and full time openings for the fall at The Country Cottage. Be sure to contact us by phone to schedule a visit.
The warm sunshine is making everything bloom! It’s so pretty outside and we sure are enjoying being outside. This rain and cooler temps won’t get us down for long. Thought you might like to see how big the baby ducks are getting.
Our trip to Spokane was lots of fun! Tim Hawkins was hilarious as usual and the lake house was peaceful. Thanks so much for your trust in Alisha and Rachel who did a fabulous job. To see pics of all our fun, visit our family blog at http://www.shanevida.wordpress.com!
We are sooooo enjoying the summer at The Country Cottage! The temps are cool in the morning and perfectly warm in the afternoon. The children are having a blast and we spend most days outside. Here are some of the latest pictures of our daily fun.
I’m pretty sure there are few daycares in town who afford this type of view from an outdoor playpen. The little ones love soaking in the sun a bit each day. We make sure they have plenty of sunscreen and can easily pull them into the shade of a nearby tree.
Here are the 2 and 3 year olds enjoying a game of ball toss in the yard.
One thing is for sure, when lunch is over these little ones are ready for a nap. Miss Pip didn’t wait for nap time… :-)
Our own children are enjoying older kids who join us as well with board games on the deck and various yard games such as badminton.
The kids, big and small, go on a hike every day. We took the big kids on a hike alone and in addition to picking wildflowers we saw the most awesome cacoon of caterpillars
